Good Cop, Bad Cop

This movie I swear is my fiance and I. I feel like I need things in order and planned like Drew Barrymore. When traveling I am the one scared of it all. He loves to play pranks on me when we are traveling. He has gone too far as to make it seem like he went off the side of cruise ship! 

He and I love cruising and once when we went he thought it would be great to hide behind the spot you can't see on the balcony. I am that weirdo that has fears of being sucked off the side of the ship. Yes, I know that cannot happen, but it is my odd fear. 

Well back to the whole blended thing. Fear is something that I have when trying to deal with being blended. The dreadful, am I stepping on toes, and am I that evil stepparent that we all love to say things about when you are a kid.  I often question many things that I say and do. 

When dealing with certain situations I feel like the bad cop while my fiance is the good cop. I take away things and say absolutely not! Am I wrong for that?! I know discipline should be given by the actual parent, but sometimes the stepparent needs to step in. I do not want to raise, bad kids. 

So, the question is should the child only be disciplined by the one parent or do you think both? I know this might be a sensitive question for some. 

Blended Families

I finally clicked back on this blog! I cannot believe it has been 5 years since I have been here writing to you all. Well, in five years, so much has changed. I have been through so many life changes that I have never shared with any of my readers. Well, in the time since I was continually writing to you all, I have gone through a divorce, tried to find myself, and found a new love. I am now engaged and will be going through the chaos of being a blended family.

Have you gone through this? Please share with us all how you have gone about keeping it light and easy for navigating through the waves of exes. I think we all could say good things and bad things, but I only want to focus on positive things.

I want to start sharing my life of all the good and bad with blending families together. I know I am in for a bumpy ride!

This week I am doing my awesome Etsy finds. I want to focus on playhouses. I know all kiddos love those things. While flipping through it, I found ones that I wish I could have had when I was younger. The designs vary so much that I wanted to show you that there is a playhouse for every kind of kid. My goodness, it has been forever since I actually took the time to add to this blog. I know my randomness is precisely what makes me me. My kiwi monster is beyond big now!!!! What in the world is happening? My days fly by like no tomorrow. It seems like just yesterday I was celebrating Kiwi's 8th birthday

KOOL KOALA ETSY FINDS :)

I love finding amazing products on Esty because everything on there is created by someone locally. I love supporting local artists and when I want something that was thoughtfully created instead of gifts found in department stores I look on Esty. So my friend Jen is expecting a baby in August so I wanted to find some awesome koala bear items and these products I found I want to share with you all.

I did my search in the store and I found this product that I fell in love with!!!

Keeping it a secret :)

I had the chance to find out the sex of the baby, and I wish I could share it with everyone, but right now, we are keeping it a secret. Let's just say I WON!!!!! Mom lost :) The other coach said, "My goodness Marissa why is it that you know before the rest of us?" I have the best intuition, I guess! :)

The theme for the little bundle of joy is koala bears, and it is difficult figuring out baby shower things. I have decided on getting bamboo plates to go with the theme because there are no plates that have a cartoon looking koala bear on it. I have seen the jungle theme, but we only want koalas. If you know any place that has these, please keep me informed.

I am fortunate enough to have such crafty friends and family that have given me loads of ideas for this shower. Also, every baby shower has games, and many of them are getting old now to me. Any suggestions on any odd ones you have played that would be great for the upcoming party I am co-hosting?

I will have to show you the readers all the fun ideas that are floating in this head once I get it going. Also, I want to give a prior thank you to all the people that are helping with making this happen. My family may not like me after I get help on some of these crafty projects lol. Another BABY!!!!!!

So I am excited to finally find out the sex of my best friend's baby on Thursday!!!!!! I can not believe how fast this time is going by for her. I am the coach, and boy, oh boy, I am nervous. Yes, I have a daughter, but I was on the other end doing the work to have my beautiful princess. The hard part I would say for me is trying to keep her focused during it all.
My labor was sad to say one of the most horrific moments of my life. Never ever do I wish my labor on anyone I know. In my mind, I keep saying it's going to go super smoothly and that she no pain in the process. Wow is all I keep saying...I am truly blessed, and I feel privileged to be the one she picked to be in the room.
Thursday I will post what she is having...either way we just want a happy healthy little bundle of joy :)
